Post Double caching for NTFS-3G (buffers memory used regardless)
Hi,

It seems like I've hit a known issue with Fuse/NTFS-3G which manifests itself in double buffering of read data.

The bug is discussed here: https://github.com/libfuse/libfuse/issues/75

I would love to know what can be done to solve this bug.

Apparently the `direct_io` mount option doesn't help.

Hi,

Could you please try the attached patch ? I am not sure whether this addresses your issue, moreover it may have adverse effects on accessing metadata and on writing compressed files.

Regards

Jean-Pierre

This patch didn't help.

I tried the "direct_io" then "raw" options, but not both at the same time.

Hi,

Can you please retry with the updated patch attached ?

Also which fuse library are you using, the fully featured one (libfuse) or the simplified one shipped with ntfs-3g ?

Regards

Jean-Pierre
