In the code, if read is success, "res = total;", so, the return type should be s64, right?

Hi,

With Linux, the read size is limited. The default maximum is 131KB, though higher sizes may be used at the cost of recompiling the kernel. Having buffers greater than 2GB is definitely unreasonable, so s32 is a reasonable type for the return type.
