Post ntfs-3g stable and ignore_case
Hi!

We are using lowntfs on Debian and it works well for our needs. Will the stable ntfs-3g branch ever include the ignore_case feature? Or is it only ever going to be supported in lowntfs only. Ideally, we would prefer to use a package manager to update each new release rather than recompile from source.

It has been part of lowntfs-3g from the stable ntfs-3g branch, at least since version 2010.8.8

Currently it cannot be safely put into ntfs-3g, because this driver relies on fuse features for determining the full path to a file from its inode number, and these use hashcodes which are case sensitive. The lower to upper case conversions are not known to fuse, they rely on a table which is part of the ntfs metadata.

This is probably just a matter of release schedule. Most distributions have released packages which contain lowntfs-3g and ignore_case support.
