Post Not working in PC-BSD
Hi all,
I am running PC-BSD.
I have installed ntfs-3g with the following and all went ok,
cd /usr/ports/sysutils/fusefs-ntfs/ && make install clean

When I try to use it with,
ntfs-3g /dev/ad0s4 /mnt/vista
fuse: failed to open fuse device: no such file or directory
The /mnt/vista does exist and the /dev/ad0s4 works with the default ntfs drivers in fstab.

I have the following in my /etc/fstab file and these work but I am only using the default drivers inside FreeBSD and they just give me Read Only access.
If I try to use ntfs-3g it won't mount
/dev/ad0s4 /mnt/vista ntfs rw 0 0
/dev/ad0s6 /mnt/edrive ntfs rw 0 0

Does it help if you execute the below command before mount?
kldload fuse.ko

If not then you must create the fuse device file. Your problem seems to be PC-BSD specific.

Hi and thanks for your reply,
I opened a command prompt and entered
pcbsd# kldload fuse.ko
kldload: can't load fuse.ko: No such file or directory

Was this the right way to enter that command.

The fusefs command that gets installed by the FreeBSD port is broken, and puts the kernel module into /usr/local/modules. Try this:

Code:
kldload /usr/local/modules/fusefs.ko

Then try the mount as you previously did.

cheers,

- pgl

Post pcbsd 7.0 load kernel module
Code:
kldload /usr/local/modules/fuse.ko

in pc-bsd 7.0 fuse is not loaded automatically, and ntfs-3g requires fuse.ko loaded into the kernel. run the above command then do
Code:
ntfs-3g </dev/ntfs/XXX> </mnt/<XYZ>

I just create symlink on /usr/local/modules/fuse.ko to /boot/modules/ and check it use command:

su
kldload fuse.ko

No errors messages :(

This problem fonds if You installed PC-BSD 7.0.1. I try check this system? and downgrade it up to PC-BSD 7.0: on this system autors remove very meny pakeges? but added MUI for KDE 4.1.2. But, I must installed removed pakeges (~200) and 296 my work pakeges! Is very long time. :D
