Post FreeBSD 7.1 operation not supported by device
Can't find a way to mount a NTFS partition, always get

Code:
freebsd# mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/ad4s1 /WINDOOF
mount: /dev/ad4s1 : Operation not supported by device

have tested options, but no success

any ideas?

regards

The FreeBSD mount command has a known problem. Until it gets fixed, please call ntfs-3g directly (make sure the ntfs-3g binary is ivokable from the $PATH):
Code:
ntfs-3g /dev/ad4s1 /WINDOOF

That works! Thanks a lot.

BTW:
Have installed everything according to README in the FreeBSD port (with all renaming/symlinking), but use of entry in /etc/fstab leads reproducable to a complete system stop in the final boot phase!!
Until correction / new version I will use manual mount as you wrote
