Post error while running ./confiure
Hi,
I'm just new to this. i wanted to access windows partition from my linux box. while running ./configure from source directory (where i've extracted ntfs-3g tarball), i've ended up with below error.

[root@jeevan ntfs-3g_ntfsprogs-2011.4.12]# ./configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu

checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
[root@jeevan ntfs-3g_ntfsprogs-2011.4.12]# tail config.log
#define PACKAGE_NAME "ntfs-3g"
#define PACKAGE_TARNAME "ntfs-3g"
#define PACKAGE_VERSION "2011.4.12"
#define PACKAGE_STRING "ntfs-3g 2011.4.12"
#define PACKAGE_BUGREPORT "ntfs-3g-devel@lists.sf.net"
#define PACKAGE "ntfs-3g"
#define VERSION "2011.4.12"
#define _GNU_SOURCE 1

configure: exit 1
[root@jeevan ntfs-3g_ntfsprogs-2011.4.12]#

please advise what can be done to resolve this. This is pretty urgent for me.

Thanks!
Veera

You have no C compiler installed...

Install a C compiler.

If you cannot, you can download from http://www.tuxera.com/community/ntfs-3g-advanced/ the ready-to-use executable prepared for Knoppix, and symlink the extracted binary to /bin/ntfs-3g and /sbin/mount.ntfs This is assuming you have a fuse kernel module installed.
