Locating Windows files in Linux on a dual boot system
Hi, I am new to Linux and recently installed Ubuntu (Jaunty Jackalope) and set it up to dual boot with Windows XP. I'm trying to figure out how to access my files on the Windows partition from Ubuntu. It's my understanding that I have to mount the drive in Linux? I've researched it some and mostly saw that I need to use ntfs-3g. I looked up how to do that and used this command: 'mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt/media' However, I always receive this message: 'NTFS signature is missing. Failed to mount '/dev/sda1': Invalid argument The device '/dev/sda1' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS. Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?'
Any suggestions/help would be very helpful

Re: Locating Windows files in Linux on a dual boot system
Ok, maybe I didn't figure it out as good as I thought. I installed ntfs-config and everything else needed, but when I start the ntfs configuration tool, it greys out the option for the internal disk, which is what I need to read/write from. All I can select is an external device, but I don't have any connected. Any suggestions?
