Post big_writes option
Hi!

Are there any downsides of using the big_writes option?
Because without it write performance is pathetic.

Regards,
David

PS: Specifying wrong options to mount -o or ntfs-3g does not give an error message, apparently unknown options are silently ignored. Is that a bug?

The big_writes options is generally useful when copying big files, but not recommended when updating them.

It big_writes appears to be useful in your use case, use it. No specific reliability issue is known.

The options list contains options for ntfs-3g, for fuse and for mount. ntfs-3g first processes its own options in the list and forwards an updated list to fuse, which processes its own ones and forwards an updated list to mount. Only mount can detect unprocessed options, and I do not know why it does not report about them.

Jean-Pierre
